Each year Photo District News Magazine (PDN) holds a contest called Top Knots: The New School of Wedding Photography. Dedicated to honoring the most creative, fresh wedding photographs, PDN is a New York based award-winning magazine; required reading for professional photographers. PDN is akin to what Vogue is to fashionistas. To say that winning an award in Top Knots is an honor is a bit of an understatement. It's more like having Martha Stewart take your face in her well-moisturized hands, look deeply into your eyes and say, "You're a good thing."
Although Martha did not personally touch my face (Not to fret, we're both young and I'm confident that it will happen one day in our lives), I feel that one of her colleagues, in a sense, did. Joanna Dufour, Senior Photo Editor at Martha Stewart Weddings was one of the four industry powerhouse judges, as well as Jacqueline Tobin, executive editor of Rangefinder magazine and former deputy editor of PDN, Rebecca Crumley, Weddings Photo Director at The Knot, and
