"This is not the best day of your lives." The words hung in the air like the smoke of 1,000 blown out birthday candles. Nervous glances were exchanged and I could feel a controversial Best Man speech upon us. Thankfully the speech took a turn into one of the most powerful and beautiful tributes I have ever heard at a wedding. The Best Man went on to say that 30 years from now when Jenny and James are looking at each other over breakfast, that will be the best day of their lives. This is not the best day of their lives. That future day will be a grand culmination of decades of love and experiences shared, including this day.
The speech laid the groundwork for the celebration of Jenny and James, a couple that was made for each other.
The day began at Image Salon and Spa in Leesburg.
James ordered skull ties and custom yellow skull handkerchiefs for himself and his groomsmen. His boutonniere was lucky in the truest sense, having spotted a four leaf clover moments before dressing. James' groomsmen signed a bottle of his favorite in memory of the day. Such a sweet touch!
Jenny is one of those rare women that looks absolutely gorgeous without any makeup at all, so I maintain that having her makeup done was just a formality!
Married at last!
