Sometimes (frequently) I want to say to myself "Come on Nimble! Work faster! Harder! Smarter! Identify your weaknesses and eliminate them! Go go go!" Nimble by the way is my Pappie's nickname for me, ever since fifth grade softball when it was discovered that I run like my Grandpa Ivor - like a determined snail. But we both hit the ball so far we didn't have to run that fast! The nickname and my jogging pace remain the same today. When I write my Pappie emails I always sign them as Nimble.
I get so excited when I find products that help me be more efficient. Then I beat myself up for the next week with self torment over the time I have wasted. I begin thinking of the hours, converting them into days, weeks, months, then thinking about the languages I could have learned in that time. Mandarin. Improving my French. Sign language. It's a vicious cycle. Here is something that has helped my hustle lately:
Blogstomp. I am almost embarrassed to share this, but I also know there are many artists that struggle with blogging in a timely fashion. I used to do all formatting of my images (diptychs, image width, etc.) for my blog in Photoshop. What's wrong with that? Well, just that I probably could have learned Russian in the unnecessary time spent on formatting for my blog. Blogstomp is so fast and efficient. I will be posting more about this in-depth later. I can't remember the last time $49 saved me days! I can now prepare dozens of images for blogging, turning them into diptychs or single images, all at the correct width within minutes. The best part is that this is completely customizable. I have different templates made for Pinterest, facebook, and my blog.
After my first wedding blog post using Blogstomp I cried. Like a ninny! I culled and blog-prepped over 100 images in under 20 minutes and that was with a lot of tough pairing decisions. I felt free - to run as fast as I can.
