Re-Examining



A little question for you.  Have any of you ever checked an email in bed?  Do you feel like your job is never really done?  Do you wish you could create a better experience for your clients?  Do you feel completely overwhelmed?  

For photographers and independent business owners I think these sentiments will resonate like an earthquake!  This week and last I have been participating in a webinar series called "Making Brands Happen."  It has been so wonderful.  I was unable to attend most of the series live, thank Heaven for recorded sessions (what a week!), but from what I was able to participate in 2013 is going to amazing year.  Lara stressed progress, not perfection.  With that in mind I will share with you my three little adjustments that are going to make a world of difference to my brand.

1)  Stop looking at email and facebook in bed!
2)  Create office hours and stick to them like rubber cement.
3)  This many not apply to everyone, but I will email my brides at least two months before their wedding to mail me a copy of their wedding invitation.

  1. Great tips! So, I'm curious about the wedding invitation...why do you do that? To photograph it? To get a feeling for the wedding? Something else?

    1. Hey Morgan! I photograph the invitations. If you wait until the wedding day, if the invitation even makes it there (easily forgotten) it may be smushed. If you don't have time to photograph the invitation on the day-of you will not want to hold onto the invitation all day, trying not to bend it until you get it home. Having the invitation mailed to you is the way to go!
