Here is something you may not know about me: I photograph families all the time. Weddings, believe it or not, are an extension of family photography. At every wedding I shoot a lot of pictures of families in a variety of combinations representing both sides of the family, the generations, etc. The difference between photographing a wedding and photographing a lovely young family in Georgetown is the addition of tiny feet. The love story is still there, it just has added chapters.
When Kim initially emailed me she was pregnant and we planned a shoot for three. I could not have been more surprised when shortly after I heard from Kim that she had delivered early! The party of three bumped up to a party of four. The more the merrier!
The early morning light was so gentle and soft which perfectly illuminated this darling young family. Kim and Lee were so wonderful to work with, and the boys were perfect.
I loved photographing the Scrivners so much that this year I will be setting a few days aside just for Christmas pictures. Although it must be noted that this shoot was not specifically for Christmas cards, it was an and-then-there-were-four shoot. Childhood passes so quickly it must be captured before it steals away!
So peaceful and beautiful.
Kim and Lee are a genetic dream team. They both have perfect skin, high intelligence, and lovely personalities.
Being a little obsessed with Kim's dress I had to know...who made this deep yellow sensation? Anthropologie of course.
Thank you lovely Scrivners for our sunlit morning together. Bon voyage to Colombia!

These are all so beautiful!
